DonorTrends Unveils Recession Fighting Tool for Fundraisers
WASHINGTON, DC (October 20, 2009) In the first release of a series of services aimed at helping fundraisers boost their bottom lines in tough economic times DonorTrends announced it will make available to the non-profit and political communities actual giving data on 45 million donations.
Traditionally, fundraisers have relied on “wealth indicators”— value of real estate, ownership of companies, income and other demographic factors — to screen donor databases in search of higher giving potential.
“In today’s economy the old ways of doing things are simply not good enough. Today it’s more important than ever to focus on the folks who are actually giving rather than simply relying on conventional screening that only infers ‘capacity,’ not actual donations.” said David Lawson, Chief Innovation Officer of DonorTrends.
By becoming the exclusive screening and analytics partner of NOZA, Inc., the Santa Barbara, California firm that identifies individual giving history, DonorTrends removes much of the guesswork associated with traditional screening.
“NOZA is excited to partner with DonorTrends because of their combination of fundraising expertise and state-of-the-art technology. Until now screening with NOZA has been limited to proximity matching which is useful but lacks the precision that fundraisers want. The DonorTrends service closes that gap and the clients that have used it are enjoying results not previously possible” said Craig Harris, Founder & CEO of NOZA.
DonorTrends is marketing the new service under the brand NOZA@Home to highlight that the information includes millions of givers at their home address.
In addition to screening donor files, DonorTrends is also integrating the NOZA data into its proprietary Adaptive Analytics Suite along with other data sources, to provide giving propensity models for upgrading, retention and reinstatement.
“NOZA@Home will provide fundraisers something not attainable from traditional analytics and screening — the ability to know who among your donors is giving to others, and how much. Knowing who among your donors are the most upgradeable and the most loyal has never been more important than when organizations are faced dramatic drops in acquisition and retention rates.” said Roger Craver, Founder & CEO of DonorTrends.
